💣 Does Binance Stand A Chance?

OpenAI dev day | Lybra wars | Derivio mainnet

A weekly recap of the largest crypto events and narratives, with an extra dose of insight.

Here’s what we have for you:

  • OpenAI dev day

  • Binance’s new earn product

  • Lybra wars

  • New Sushi tokenomics

  • Derivio mainnet beta

Howdy Raiders.

The markets have been rangebound for the past few weeks. AI tokens have been pumping on the back of OpenAI’s dev day, with tokens such as TAO and AKT significantly outperforming the market. Sam Altman’s other project, Worldcoin barely budged. It’s honestly crazy how much more impact AI has had on the world than crypto in such a short period of time.

In other news, Binance released a new earn product promising up to 13% on USDT. Truth be told, this gave me a little bit of PTSD. If there’s anything to learn from the previous bull, if you don’t know where the yield is coming from, you are the yield. And I sure as hell don’t know how Binance is able to generate 13% on USDT.

The Arbitrum DAO has officially passed the proposal to active ARB staking. Thus, once initiated, 100M in ARB tokens will be distributed to those who stake ARB for up to a one year period.

Lybra wars

  • The Lybra Wars have begun. Lido is offering additional incentives for those who mint peUSD with wstETH. Users can now bolster yields by receiving incentives directly from LST issuers.

  • The race to be the dominant LST is on, and Lido isn’t backing down from its dominant position. On top of earning esLBR rewards, one will earn stETH.

New Sushi tokenomics

  • Sushi has updated its tokenomics. The new model is optimized for protocol sustainability, token utility enhancement, and treasury diversification.

  • Some defining features include long-term lockups for greater rewards, NFT trading, dynamic reward adjustments, tier-based staking, and more. There’s a strong focus on actors with long-term incentives that are aligned with the protocol. Worth a long.

Derivio mainnet beta live

  • Derivio, an institutional-grade structured derivatives ecosystem is now live on mainnet. Users can trade perps, options, provide liquidty, and more on 20 different markets.

  • There are many DEXs out there trying to build a CEX like experience, and Derivio is promising trading competitions and retroactive incentives, so don’t miss out.
